Tipp City Schools will open kindergarten registration for the 2025-2026 school year at 9:00 a.m. on February 24, 2025. Children must be five years old by August 1, 2025, to enroll.
This year, the district is making an important change by moving the kindergarten screening to the spring instead of waiting until late summer or the start of school. Broadway Elementary School principal Tina Smith said, “This change allows teachers and staff to better prepare for each child’s learning needs before the school year begins, ensuring a smoother transition into kindergarten.”
Parents or guardians must complete an online registration form on the district website, www.tippcityschools.com. Click on “Enrollment” in the top right corner, then select “Kindergarten Registration.”
During online registration, parents will schedule and confirm an in-person appointment at Broadway Elementary School for the required kindergarten screening and final registration. The appointment dates are April 22 and April 23, 2025. A parent or legal guardian must accompany the child.
To complete registration, please bring an original birth certificate, a 3x5 inch (or smaller) photo of the child, proof of residency (current lease or deed), parent/guardian’s driver’s license, and custody papers (if applicable).
By holding kindergarten screenings in the spring, Tipp City Schools can better assess each child’s readiness, provide appropriate resources, and create balanced class placements. This approach can help students feel more confident and prepared for their first day of school in August.
