Incoming superintendent Aaron Moran is transitioning into his new role with Tipp City Schools and already feels at home in the community. "The families, staff, business owners, and community members have been very welcoming," said Moran.
The Board of Education approved Moran's three-year contract in March, effective August 1.
The board then approved a bridge contract so he could work with staff, meet key stakeholders, and engage in the ongoing K-12 Master Facilities Planning to make for a smoother transition. He will be in the district three days a week until August 1.
Moran said he believes in the district's strengths and accepts the challenges as opportunities. He is focused on improving student achievement, learning, and engagement, providing enhanced opportunities, and making Tipp City Schools a top district in the state. He is confident the district will achieve those goals.
Moran has been a strong leader for Versailles Schools for more than ten years, where the mantra "we are here to do what is best for students" guided his decision-making.
During times of uncertainty, the district "achieved success by focusing on the needs of our children and being supported by the community. My leadership style has been the driving force to help our staff utilize their best assets and address the needs of our students first," explained Moran.
Moran held staff meetings in June to speak with all employees and set the stage for an exciting school year. He also hosted several Meet and Greets, attended Community Facilities Planning Meetings, and met with his administrative team.
Moran said he plans to schedule additional community events to meet more families and learn what is important to them so "we can collaborate to best support the success of our students, staff, schools, Board of Education, and community."
"I am settling into my role and look forward to starting full-time in August," added Moran.
