The Tippecanoe High School Hope Squad is hosting Hope Week, five days of events to reduce mental health stigma and promote positivity and empathy. Students are encouraging staff and their peers to participate and show support on the themed days.
Monday- Wear yellow, the suicide prevention color.
Tuesday- Wear black to blackout the stigma.
Wednesday- It's "Hope Floats" Day. Hope Squad will be passing out root beer floats at lunch.
Thursday- Wear green, the mental health awareness color. 4 Paws for Ability Dogs is bringing dogs to campus! The nonprofit places service dogs with children, adults, and veterans.
Friday- Wear a Hat. It is "No Cap" Day ( slang for no lie). Mental health is real.
The nationally known Hope Squad is a peer-to-peer suicide prevention program. Hope Squad members are trained to identify at-risk students, provide friendship, support anti-bullying, and seek help from an adult.
