🎆Congratulations to this year's Dave Carroll Memorial Scholarship recipient, Ellie McCormick. 🌟This $800 scholarship honors the memory of Dave Carroll, who taught math at Tippecanoe High School from 1971 to 2007. 🏀🏃♟️Dave coached track and cross country early in his career, coached chess for over 20 years, and volunteered as a basketball timekeeper for many years.⚾ He loved baseball, and his annual rendition of "Who's on First" was a highlight of every class. Most importantly, he always found time to help students struggling with math – frequently tutoring year-round. The scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates the personal characteristics of Dave, including good scholarship and a desire to help others in the community and plans to pursue a career in education.📚#WEareTIPP #localscholarships #appreciation #academicsuccess

Sharing a note of gratitude the district received. "On behalf of the Operation Welcome Home events during the Dayton Air Show last month, I would like to thank Tipp City Schools for your tremendous support of our program. Your staff and students fully embraced the Operation Welcome Home celebration project and contributed the most welcome home and veteran support posters of any of the participating schools. The approximately 200 posters were not only numerous but also beautifully crafted and obviously heartfelt. The thousands of visitors to our veterans' area at the air show were touched by the quantity of the posters as well as by their quality. I'm happy to say that many of Tipp's posters are now proudly displayed at the Miami Valley Veterans Museum (MVVM) in Troy for others to see and appreciate. I have attached a photo of some of the posters displayed at the Operation Welcome Home section at the air show as well as some from the MVVM. Again, thank you, Tipp City Schools, for your support of this patriotic project and for your support of our veterans." 👏🏻✨Congratulations to this year's winner of The John Hurtt Citizenship Award, Jackson Smith. 👏🏻✨ This award is presented to a Tippecanoe High School senior in honor of the late John Hurtt, a Tippecanoe science teacher until he died of cancer in 1976 at the age of 29. 👍🏻Mr. Hurtt helped in many areas of student activities and school functions in a “behind the scenes” manner. 😊 He did not seek recognition, but could always be found quietly assisting with athletics, drama, music, or in any area where help was needed. The recipient of this award was selected by the staff of Tippecanoe High School as the senior who best reflects the spirit of John Hurtt.😊#localscholarships #studentscholars #Classof2024 #WEareTIPP
