It was a night to remember for Tippecanoe High School students Audrey Kinninger, and Sarah George, and teacher Aimee Noel. Through the generosity of the Tipp City Public Library, Tipp Foundation, Tippecanoe Educational Endowment, Dayton Literary Peace Prize, WYSO Public Radio, and The Institute of Museum and Library Services through the State Library of Ohio, the three attended the Dayton Literary Peace Prize Award Gala. (The students wrote essays for the privilege to attend.)Ms. Noel said, "The speeches of each author about their work and the ability of the written word to affect change and advance peace were truly inspirational. Our students personally met Dr. Carla Hayden, the first woman and first African American Librarian of Congress. Dr. Hayden introduced the students to Ms. Sandra Cisneros, who graciously signed their programs. The evening was magical; the students represented our school very well, and I am grateful to all those who provided and supported this experience." #WEareTIPP

Tipp City Schools superintendent Aaron Moran went to Miami Valley CTC to congratulate and thank Tippecanoe High School student Joshua Street for a successful service project. Enrolled in the Dental Assisting program, Joshua initiated a project to collect some oral hygiene items for Dental Helping Hands, a nonprofit that provides oral health services and life-changing surgeries to underserved communities worldwide. Through his efforts at MVCTC and THS, with friends and families, and through word of mouth, he collected 3,000 items! He is humbly overwhelmed by the success of his idea and never anticipated the response he received. #WEareTIPP #dentalhelpinghands
