WHAT ARE DI TEAMS? WHO LEADS THEM? HOW OFTEN DO THEY MEET?
DI teams consist of up to 7 members & are led by one or two trained volunteers who serve as the Team Manager/s. A team’s meeting schedule is determined by the Team Manager and the parents of the team members. Please make a thoughtful commitment to DI. Once a team reaches capacity, a member cannot be replaced if s/he drops out, and the team will then be short of a member.
HOW ARE TEAMS FORMED?
The number of teams formed from each school depends entirely on the number of Team Managers who volunteer. It may be necessary to combine students from different grades &/or schools to form a team.
HOW MUCH TIME DOES IT TAKE?
Meetings will start as soon as the managers have been trained and will end at the Regional Tournament on March 08, 2025. For qualifying teams in grades 3-12, the State Tournament is March 29, 2025. For teams advancing to Global Finals, it will be held in late May 2025. The time commitment during the season depends upon member dedication; member & Team Manager availability; the DI challenge; the level of experience and age. Most teams meet at least once per week throughout the early DI season, with more meetings in January, February, & March.
HOW MUCH DOES DI COST?
The participation fee for Tipp City DI is $50.00.
This fee includes: a DI t-shirt; Regional/Affiliate Tournament fees; DI Instant Challenge Day; administrative costs; & support of State Tournaments.
